What should I say in my FUNDRAISING LETTERS?

Last Updated: Nov 09, 2018 11:58AM CST
While we provide examples to get you started, you should always write your own support letter. Once you have completed it, have a close family member or friend review it for tone, spelling, and grammar. The message can be the same for every recipient but don’t hesitate to infuse it with your own personality. You may even consider opening and closing the letter with personal comments for each individual.

In your letter, make sure you include the following information, limiting it to one page:
  • Your story – what led you to go and why? Your destination – where will you be?
  • Your team – who is going with you?
  • Your mission – what will you do when you get there?
  • Your focus – whom will you be serving?
  • Your needs – how can they pray for you and how can they contribute?
You will also need to include specifics about making financial gifts, not forgetting the following information:
  • Dollar amount needed.
  • Link to your personal fundraising page and instructions for giving online.
  • Address where the financial gifts should be sent. (They should come to you, so you can record who has given and how much you’ve received.)
  • Checks should be made payable to “e3 Partners Fund at PureCharity.” All gifts are tax-deductible. Donors will receive a receipt in the mail from us.
  • Credit card donations are welcome through our website, (You will need to provide your expedition code.)
  • The deadline for receiving funds.
Remember to thank your potential supporters in advance for their prayer and financial gifts!
